Funeral services for Casper resident Emilie "Millie" Zitterkopf, 85, will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Alliance, Neb., with Pastor Ron Blauvelt officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Mrs. Zitterkopf died at a Casper health care facility on Aug. 10, 1997. She was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Fred and Mary (Wamboldt) Bruntz. She married .John Zitterkopf on Feb. 7, 1928, in Scottsbluff. After their marriage, they lived in the valley area, then moved to Hastings. During World War II, they moved to California, where she went to rugbraiding and flower making school, a trade she continued throughout her life. They moved back to the Scottsbluff valley area, then to Wyoming where they were engaged in farming and the construction business. They moved to Alliance in 1904 and stayed there until her husband's death in 1980. She moved to Minatare, Neb., and then to Casper, where she lived until her death. She was a member of the American Germans from Russia. Survivors are eight of her 10 children, Carolyn Steffensmeier of Minatare, Neb., Vernon of Casper, Marvin of Gulfport, Miss., Richard of Minatare, Neb., William of Chino, Calif, James of Ontario, Calif., Nancy Prime of Manhattan, Kan., and Stephen of Santa Ana, Calif.; three brothers, Jake of Gering, Neb., Herman of Mitchell, Neb., and William of Denver; four sisters, Mary Whitman of Greeley, Colo., Helen Schilreff of Scottsbluff, Neb., Leona Rose of Spearfish, S.D., and Willma Hessler of Deming, N.M.; 33 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Doris Smith; a son, Johnny; one sister and three brothers.
