Long Illness Fatal to Mrs. Smith

MRS. LOUISE Hunt Smith, widow of Wilbert L. Smith, one of the founders of L. C. Smith & Corona Typewriters, Inc., died this morning following a long illness.
She was the mother of Wilbert A. Smith of 1 Brattle rd. and Elwyn L. Smith of 935 James st.
A native of Syracuse, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Austin J. Hunt. She was a life resident of this city.
LONG ACTIVE in community work, Mrs. Smith was a member of board of the Onondaga Orphan's Home, and of the Shelter. During World War I, she devoted much of her time to Red Cross work, and has since maintained interest in that organization. She was active in the affairs of the Episcopal Church and was a communicant of St. Paul's Church.
Private funeral services will be conducted in Hadley Chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, the Rev. Franklin P. Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the family mausoleum at Oakwood Cemetery. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
BESIDES HER two sons, Mrs. Smith is survived by seven grandchildren, Mrs. Malcomb D. MacNaughton of Grand Haven, Mich., Mrs. Robert D. Heaviside of Syracuse, Mrs. John P. Kipp of Cold Spring Harbor, Mrs. John B. McCormick with the American Red Cross in Brazil, Elwyn L. Smith, Jr., of Syracuse, Mrs. Charles E. Roberts, Jr., of Syracuse and Wilbert L. Smith, II, with the U. S. Navy, and nine great grandchildren, Darby Duane MacNaughton, Wendy Ward MacNaughton, Bonnie MacNaughton, Duncan Duane MacNaughton, Karen Ward Kipp, John P. Kipp, Jr., Hendrick B. Kipp, H. Ward Heaviside and Susan Smith Roberts.
She was a daughter of Austin J. Hunt & Sabina T. Wilson.
