Alice M. Kleve, age 70 of Payette, Ida., died suddenly Dec. 7, 2008, at the Holy Rosary Medical Center in Ontario, Ore., from a brain aneurysm.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Payette, with Father Rob C. Erwin, Catholic priest, officiating. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Payette.

Alice was born in Freeport, MN on Jan. 13, 1938, to Leo and Mary (Scherping) Elfering.

Alice's passion was playing her music at nursing homes and at community centers and cooking for family and friends. Her love of music, playing her accordion and piano entertaining others gave her inspiration and independence.

She is survived by seven children, Wanda Kleve of Albuquerque, N.M., Tony Kleve of Fruitland, Ida., John Kleve of Payette, Art (Darla) Kleve, of Ontario, Ore., Mary Ann (Martin) Yamamoto of Weiser, Ida., Caroline (Aaron) Fitzsimmons, of Selah, Wash., and Gerilyn (Jeff) Richardson, of Canyon Country, Calif.; six grandchildren.

Brothers and Sisters; Vic (Evie) Elfering of St. Rosa, Val Elfering of St. Rosa, Ervin (Gerri) Elfering of Stacy, Irene Leukam and Rita Gerding, both of Melrose.

She was preceded in death by her parents in 1981; husband Dick Kleve in 2000; brother Arnold in 1994; and four infant children.
