Martin Ehrhardt, was born in Hesse-Cassel, and was reared on a farm in Germany until he was twenty-six years of age. He married in that country, and upon emigrating to America located near Steubenville, Ohio. Later he removed to Brook County, Va., where he lived for nine years. In 1844 he came to Missouri and settled in this township, where he improved a farm. He became the most extensive sheep-raiser in this locality, but now at the age of eighty-three he lives a retired life. For many years he has been one of the prominent members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Wife Annie E. (Crume) Ehrhardt was also born in Hesse-Cassel.

John William Ehrhardt, Born: 1837 on board Ship from Germany to United States son of Martin Ehrhardt, 1809-1896 and Anne Eliza Ehrhardt, 1810-1884, Married in 1853: Sarah Elizabeth Adams 1838-1899, the daughter of William Hamilton Adams, 1812-1869 and Almire Ray, 1812-1840. Children: William M Ehrhardt 1860-1913 and John Henry Ehrhardt 1864-1946, John William Ehrhardt Died in 1864. John William Ehrhardt, Private, H Company, 17th Regiment, Missouri Infantry, a part of the "Light German Brigade" which was attached to the 3rd Brigade, 1st Division, 15th Army Corps under Major General William Tecumseh Sherman. The regiment fought in several battles between July and December 1864. John William Ehrhardt was one of 219 casualties that died in one of the many battles during Sherman's march to the sea in 1864. Sarah Elizabeth then married Herman Fulkins in Chariton, Missouri in 1864 who raised John Henry and William M. Ehrhardt. Sarah and Herman had one child Annie Elizabeth Fulkins 1869-1956, Sarah Elizabeth Ehrhardt/Fulkins Died in Salisbury Township, Chariton, Missouri in 1899.

Henry Ehrhardt (b 8-25-1838, d 1-6-1915) who was married to "Mattie" Martha (Allen) Ehrhardt (b 4-4-1852, d 9-2-1929). Henry and Mattie had two sons:
Allen M. Ehrhardt (b 8-16-1875, d 5-29-1953)(married to Lyde (Keller) Ehrhardt and the parents of Thomas Henry Ehrhardt (b 10-23-1916, d 3-4-1998).
Henry Harvey Ehrhardt (b 8-25-1885, d 8-6-1915)

Mary (Ehrhardt) Ulrich (b1841, d 1916) Mary married Henry S. Ulrich (b 8-1835), the son of Adam Ulrich (of German heritage born in the U.S.) and Eliza (Shear) Ulrich. Henry Ulrich was born in PA, the third of five children. His parents passed away when he was a child, and he grew up in Ohio. Beginning in 1856, Henry lived in Illinois for sixteen years. In 1877, he settled permanently in Chariton County, Missouri. He was a farmer, stock raiser and tradesman (stone mason, bricklayer, plaster). Mary (Ehrhardt) Ulrich and Henry Ulrich have five children: Virginia Leona, Marten Edward, John B., Henry Otis, Daisy.

Catherine "Katy" (Ehrhardt) Wack (b 1851, d 1904) married William Wack ( b 11-22-1840 near Canton, IL, d 1939), the great grandson of Rev Casper Wack of Germany and the son of Sarah A. (Lawrence) Wack of Carthage, MO (b in Morris County, New Jersey, the daughter of Stephen a Lawrence, a farmer).
