Arnold Victor Hoefler was born September 24, 1931 at New Vienna, Iowa the son of John and Lucille Huegelmann Hoefler.

He attended school and grew up at New Vienna.

Arnold was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Bagge on April 23, 1960 at Dyersville, Iowa. To this union were born five Children: Joseph, James, Jayne, Jill, and Jennifer.

They farmed near Masonville, Iowa for many years until 1973 when they moved into Lamont.

Arnold worked as an insurance agent and crop adjuster for many years. He was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Arnold enjoyed wintering in Florida and Texas where he went Deep Sea Fishing. He also liked to play Euchre, Solo, and Pinochle card games.

Arnold entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday December 5, 2006 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo following a sudden illness. He was 75 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Joseph.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary of Lamont; his three daughters, one son and grandchildren: Jayne Recker and sons Noah and Jack of Robins; Jim (Linda) Hoefler and children Sam and Marnie of Norwalk; Jill (Doug) Moberly and sons Jacob and Connor of Altoona; Jennifer (Phil) Janowski and son Benjamin of Wauwatosa, WI; a daughter-in-law, Cindy (Mike) McCoy and children Cody and Cameron of Altoona; three brothers: John (Marilyn) of New Vienna, Clem (Joan) of New Vienna, and David (Joyce) of Dyersville; three sisters: Germaine Schilling of Zwingle, Mary Ann (Al) Geers of Marion, Eileen (Jim) Simon of Farley; many other nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday Dec. 8, 2006 in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Strawberry Point with Father Paul Peters officiating. Interment will be in St. Albert's Cemetery east of Lamont. Friends may call from 2:30 PM until 8 PM Thursday at Fawcett Funeral Home in Lamont and after 9:30 A.M. Friday at the Church. A scripture service will be held at 5 PM Thursday at Fawcett's.
