Billy joined the United States Air Force in 1942, was a fighter pilot, flying P-38's and 51's in the European Theater during WWll and flew 51 combat missions. He married Carleen Clark November 28, 1945. Bill joined his father and brother in the family business, Craddock Motor Company in Colorado City, TX where he was active in many civic organizations including the Mitchell County Masonic Lodge. In 1952, he and his family moved to Medina TX where he was a rancher and building contractor. He served on the Medina ISD school board, was a director of the Hill Country Telephone Coop, a member of the Medina United Methodist Church, and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was an avid reader, loved golf and had the privilege of playing at St. Andrews in Scotland. He adored his wife, Corkie, six grand kids and thirteen great grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jay Craddock, sister Mary May Wylie, and nephew, Luke Wulfjen. He is survived by his wife, Carleen, of 65 years, a sister, Maxine Wulfjen of Richardson, a sister-in-law Marian Craddock of Lubbock, daughter Ann Wells and husband Buddy of Medina, son Frank Craddock and wife Fayrene of San Angelo, six grandchildren, Tim and Cody Wells, Misti Wells-Springfield, Reyna Faris, Chad Meyer, and Billy Craddock, along with thirteen great grandchildren.
