Kirbach
Greene County native Edmund Peter Kirbach, 83, of Godfrey died at 4:07 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at his home.
He was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Greenfield, the son of Henry C. and Mary Anna (Abeln) Kirbach. He married the former Mildred Jean Roth May 6, 1947, in Michael, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mildred, are three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Linda) Klein of Grafton, Mrs. Bill (Carolyn) Cox of Godfrey, and Mrs. Virgil (Lois) Kambarian of Granite City; eight grandchildren and four spouses, Brian and Melinda Summers and Beth and Kory Brown of Godfrey, Tim Summers and Donnie and Trisha Cox of Alton, Angie and Bobby Simms of East Alton, Adam Weaver of Jerseyville, Joseph Weaver of Normal, and James Weaver of Granite City; four step-grandchildren and one spouse, Tanya Klein of Hardin, Cheyanne Klein of Scottsdale, Ariz., Erik and Jamie Kambarian of Alton, and Kristin Kambarian of Granite City; 10 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchilden; one sister, Magdalene Pennington of Carrollton; and one brother, Henry Kirbach of Largo, Fla.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew Kirbach and Leonard Kirbach.
Mr. Kirbach was employed by the Olin Corp. in East Alton for 45 years.
Friends called Wednesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Fr. Steve Pohlman will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey followed by interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.
