William "Bill" Lorenz Shaw, 73, quietly and peacefully slipped away Monday, March 23, 2009 at his home in Rock Springs.

He was born March 25, 1935 in Anaconda, Montana the son of William Lorenz and Agnes Fitzpatrick Lorenz. He attended schools in Helena Montana and graduated from Helena High School.

He married Bernice "Bunny" Ereth in February, 1961 in Los Angeles, California.

Bill served in the US Army during the Korean War. He had been employed by Bechtel, Combustion Engineer, Western Power and Industrial Services. He owned and operated his own business, Custom Welding in Rock Springs. He was a certified welding inspector.

He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Archie Hay Post 24, and the Eagles Fraternal Order No. 151.

His interests included camping, fishing, gambling, and having a beer with his friends.

Survivors include his wife Bunny Shaw of Rock Springs; one son William "Bill" Shaw and wife Cindy of West Valley City, Utah; one daughter Nancy Shaw and fiance' Scott Kelly of Rock Springs; sisters, Ralone, Betty, and Nancy all of Tigard, Oregon; stepmother, Pearl Lorenz of Tigard, Oregon; grandchildren, Samantha Canistrini, Alex Shaw and Kaden Kelly; uncle and aunt Ray and Jean Lorenz of Hamilton, Montana; compassionate friend Scott Kelly; and his buddy "Whiskers" the cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother James Lorenz.

Cremation has taken place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs.

In honoring his wishes, no services will be held.
