Mrs. Anna Steger Called By Death
Funeral Services for Aged Dyersville Lady Held Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Steger, who died Friday after a prolonged illness, were held Monday.
Mrs. Steger, whose maiden name was Anna Kramer, was born Aug. 11, 1864 in Germany. She was married to Joseph Steger in Feb., 1888 at Worthington by the late Rev. Father Zigrand. Her Husband preceded her in death, April14, 1930. The couple lived at Worthington for 20 years and since then lived in Dyersville.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary, Mrs. Fred Soppe of Farley; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Herman Graves of Aurora and one brother, Clifford Kramer of Worthington.
The funeral was held from the Steger and Hoffmann funeral home to St. Francis church at 9:30 o’clock. Rev. Father Clifford Steger of Rose Creek, nephew of the deceased, sang the requiem mass. Rev. Father J. B. Herbers, pastor was present in the sanctuary. Burial was made in St Francis cemetery. Rev. Father Herbers having services at the gravesite, assisted by the Rev. Father Steger. Casket bearers were Leo Osterhaus, Anthony Honkomp, Philip Winters, William Kramer, Ben Gebhard and John Trenkamp.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schuster of Worthington, Mrs. John Feltes of Hopkinton, Mrs. Herman Graves, Mrs. Albert Graves all of Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Kramer of Worthington, Mr. and Mrs. Cy Kramer of Worthington, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ricken of Manchester and Rev. Father Clifford Steger of Rose Creek, Minnesota.
