A.P. Mildenberger

A.P. "Bud" Mildenberger, 69, of Sioux City died Friday, April 18, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Guerdet officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American legion Manahan Post 64. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.

Mr. Mildenberger was born April 28, 1927, in Ovid, Colo., the son of Joseph and Magdalena (Mahler) Mildenberger. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart medals.

He married Josephine "Jo" Pirog on Nov. 27, 1948, in Sioux City.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Disables American Veterans Chapter 54.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Joe and Jan of Apple Valley, Minn.; three daughter and their husbands, Paula and Patrick Connolly of Frederick, Md., Mary Jo and Robert Thelen of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Roxanne and Gary Talbott of Lincoln, Neb.; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Chris, Matt, Dawn, Todd, Tucker, Cody an dAlec; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and six brothers.
