Born Feb. 14, 1928, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Albert Beal and Julia Margaret Huff Allport.
He was a past member of the Martinsburg Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Harbert Allport; two sons, Kenneth Larry Allport and Brian Allport and wife, Regina, of Martinsburg; one daughter, Cindy Murphy and husband, Robert, of Hedgesville; two stepchildren, Anita Guesford, of Winchester and Douglas Stonestreet, of Reedsville; eight grandchildren, Shelly and Matt Hutzler, Christopher Allport, Tracy Ware, Justin and Megan Murphy, Logan Allport, and Katie Murphy; one stepgrandaughter, Heather Guesford; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Hutzler.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Brown Funeral Home. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at the funeral home.
