DAVENPORT -- Services for Robert D. Meeker, 60, Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Meeker died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island.
He was employed as a sheet metal journeyman at Rock Island Arsenal.
He was born May 24, 1940, in Centerville, Iowa, to Robert W. and Dorothy Genevieve (Parker) Meeker. He married Mary Rita Gravert on Nov. 8, 1969, in Davenport.
Mr. Meeker was a veteran of the Army.
His greatest joy was his grandson, Bradley. He enjoyed country western music and was president of the Country Western Music Association. He played the steel guitar in several local bands. He was a member of the Bettendorf Masonic Hamilton Lodge.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; sons, Robert D. Meeker, and his wife, Laurel, Surprise, Ariz., Brian Meeker, and his wife, Laura, Bloomfield, Iowa, and Jeff Meeker and Beth Abhalter, Davenport; grandchildren, Bradley and Dakota; and a sister, Marilyn Lampe, Lakewood, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
