In 1869, George's father, Andrew purchased Lot 21, Concession 2, Ellice Township, Perth County, Ontario, Canada. Andrew transferred this farm to George in 1889. George kept the farm until 1907 when he sold to Alice Borman. George moved his family from here to Sebringville and then to Stratford, but moved back to Sebringville when he retired in 1926.
George was on Ellice Township council for 18 years and was reeve from 1894 to 1900. He was also a tax collector and assessor. George worked for the federal customs department.
