Wealthy M. ( Mary ? ) Murphy..... Simon Wilson daughter of John Murphy and ? was originally married at age 15 to my great great grandfather Silas Alexander Simon in Christian county Illinois.
Her father John murphy was discharged for injuries from the army in the civil war and we have a copy of those discharge papers from the state of Illinois and would provide a copy of them to any murphy descendants who might like a copy. At this time we don't know if she had other siblings....
Silas Alexander Simon Died of pneumonia at age 35 years 10 months and 6 days ....04 11 1885 in Carterville Mo where they resided with their three sons....1.Silas Alexander, 2. Charles , 3. Arthur for two years.
She resided at 535 east 8th street Tulsa Ok after being remarried to a man named...Mathew Wilson who taught the trade of carpentry to Wealthy Marie's young sons, we would be interested in hearing from Wilson descendants if any and sharing information about her. She was known for charging in to the Mayor's office in Tulsa and demanding to speak to him and making the news paper. I am not old enough to remember her tenacity but my grandmother used to tell me stories about her and I may have some news clippings with her photos I intend to dig out and post.
Her son Silas Alexander Simon co-founded the carpenters union in Tulsa and was a member of it for 50 years before retiring, he also ran for the office of mayor of Tulsa and Wealthy was well known in Tulsa as a political activist who supported her son and various other public concerns.
I will be uploading some photos as I have time to locate them . We do not know what became of the other two sons Charles and Arthur , and if they have descendants we would hope to hear from them , there are only three living descendants on this part of the family left , I am her great great grand son and there is two other great grandson's living.

Ralph had issue of two sons Phillip....
( my father deceased) and Allen my fathers brother and
my uncle still living.
Edward had no issue that we are aware of.
Paul Haskell ("Hack" )deceased had issue of one son
Carl Alexander still living and my second cousin.
Gordon was married to a woman named Jean and it is
thought they had no issue before he died in an auto
accident.
Carl and Timothy ( myself ) are trying to determine our Simon and Murphy ancestors and possible descendant relations.... we suspect we have the possibility of those being from and or around Christian and Macoupin Counties in Illinois....
( Taylorville, Carlinville, Gillespie,Springfield, ) anyone who can assist us will be greatly appreciated and if there does exist descendants or relations direct or indirect of any names we would be grateful to hear from you ....we are also related to Brown's whom we have tracked the ancestry back to before the arrival in the USA but we do not know if our great grandmother Mabel Brown had other relations who continued to descend, Her father was Joseph who married Matilda Peters.
We are possibly related to the surnames of Simon, Murphy, Brown, Davidson, Peters, Dodge and a whole lot of others related to the " Brown's " that we have uncovered in the Brown ancestry. Which is Historical.
