William's mother was Augusta (Drews) Stender. She was born in 1863 MN. & died 22 Nov. 1884. I have not found her burial location.

Wm. Stender Dies At New Germany
Wm. ("Billy") Stender, of New Germany, passed away suddenly last Tuesday night from a heart attack. He had taken care of his duties during the day, attended the ball game at Mayer in the early evening and then attended a meeting of the creamery board. After the meeting, about midnight, he was talking to friends, when suddenly he fell off his chair and in a few minutes, passed away. Wm. Stender was postmaster at New Germany and secretary of the creamery. He was well known and liked through the county.
