Jay Bower, 79, of Boise, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, at home of natural causes. Mr. Bower, a retired farmer, was born Jan. 22, 1907, at St. Paul, Neb., to Richard and Minnie Bower. He was reared and educated in Nebraska, and moved with his family to Idaho in 1934. He had farmed near Lake Lowell, at Parma, and retired from a farm in Kuna. He married Elno Ross Coggeshall on July 10, 1971, at Boise.

He is survived by his wife, Elno of Boise; a daughter, Irene Love of Eugene, Ore.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen and Robert Hill, and Elaine and Jerry Morrison, all of Boise, and Lois and Larry Bridge of Wasilla, Alaska; a stepdaughter, Sara Henry of Tucson, Ariz.; a stepson, Dave R. Coggeshall of Boise; a brother, Glen Bower of Caldwell; a sister, Florence Miller of Nampa; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Raymond; a grandson, Randy Morrison; and a son-in-law, Elmo Love. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dwayne, Larry, Steven, Michael and David Love, Blaine Morrison, Kevin Vert and Lyle Bridge.
