Services for Katie E. Chaney, 76, of 616 16th Ave. N., Nampa, who died Tuesday, Jan. 31, at her home, will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Pastor Mark Cares of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Nampa, will officiate. Private entombment will follow in the Building of Reverence at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Chaney was born Aug. 6, 1907, at Monroe, Neb. At an early age she moved with her family to Idaho where she was reared and educated. She had made her home in Nampa since 1965. She was a member of the Nampa Messiah Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons, Hank Schanbeck, Nampa and Ray Chaney, Ajo, Ariz.; three daughters, Ella Chaney, San Clemente, Calif., Kathie Wahlstrom, Rialto, Calif., and Doris Jckson, Rolling Hills, Calif.; three sisters, Rose Rieter, Billings, Mont., Anne Sumner, Portland, Ore., and Freida Brestler, Bellingham, Wash.; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Chaney in 1976; one son; and one daughter.
