BETTY B. DEHN (April 2, 1926 - October 1, 2011)

BETTY BABBETTE DEHN, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, October 1, 2011 with her loving family at her side. She was born Friday, April 2, 1926 in Germany, the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Mahr) Schipper. Betty was raised and educated in Germany. She met the love of her life at the end of World War II, in Germany, and this is where on Saturday, November 27, 1948 she married her sweetheart Rudolph H. Dehn. Betty proudly became a naturalized American Citizen in 1952. Betty was a Past Bethel Guardian and a long time Council Member of the International Order of Job's Daughters Bethel #257, Riverside. She enjoyed her community work and actively volunteered at the former March Air Force Base Hospital as an American Red Cross Gray Lady where she worked in the Physical Therapy Department. She also volunteered her time teaching young children at an orphanage in Thailand, while her husband was stationed there from 1974 thru 1975 and in Italy from 1976 thru 1978. She gladly followed and supported her husband in his travels during his 33 year Air Force Military career, making each new assignment an adventure and creating a home each time. She was a participant at both the Crystal Cathedral and Harvest Christian Fellowship.

Beloved wife of Rudy Dehn; Loving mother of Joan Taylor, her husband Michael; Janet Heiller, her husband Orest; and Patti Brown. Precious grandmother of 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear brother Herbert Schipper, many nieces, nephews and cousins residing in Germany. The family would like to thank Betty's loving caretakers, Vilma Rosa and Evelia Beazie for their tireless love and care in caring for Betty over the past several years. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Aldolph Schipper.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home for visitation, Saturday, October 8, 2011, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. in Akes Family's "Chapel of The Chimes" with Pastor Rick Schutte, officiating. Graveside Services will be conducted Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. in Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA. Friends are asked to gather in assembly area no. 3.
