He was born September 27, 1923, in the town of Howard to Kathryn (Lowe) and Paul A. Loew.
He grew up in the town of Howard and attended the country school there. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Ralph married Arlene Dachel on July 1, 1947, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Tilden. He farmed his entire lifetime on the land where he grew up. Ralph’s main interest and love were his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed winter trips to Arizona.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Tilden.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy (Rodney) Johnson of Colfax, Pat (Marvin) Liedl of Chippewa Falls and Chloe (Dean) Anderson of Bloomer; a son, Ralph Loew Jr. of town of Howard; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Loren) Richards, Ramona (fiancé, Patrick Wieler) Johnson, Teresa (John) McCue, Deanna (fiancé, Brady Arntson) Johnson, Roberta (Christopher) Chittendon, Jeremy Liedl and Madalyn Anderson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, on January 23, 1996; his parents; and three brothers, Vernon, Willis, and Donald Loew.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2003, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Tilden with the Rev. Fr. William Felix celebrating the funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
