Mary Barr Klaus, 87
Mary Barr Klaus, 87, formerly of Union City, Ind., died Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born on June 4, 1918 in Union City, Ind. to Glen G. and Orpha (Swallow) Barr. She was a 1936 graduate of Union City High School, and went on to graduate from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she met her husband, Lawrence Klaus.
She also lived in Morgantown, N.C., Plainwell, Mich., and since 1998, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and bridge. With her accomplishments in these endeavors, she made many friends throughout her life.
Survivors include: her son, Martin Barr Klaus, Cincinnati, Ohio; a granddaughter, Krista Liotta, Lansdale, Pa.; a grandson, Martin Lawrence Klaus, Warren, Ohio; two great granddaughters, Kate Elizabeth Liotta and Emily Rose Klaus; and two sisters, Leatrice Wright, Poland, Ohio and Jane Torres, Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. (Ind.) Friday, September 9, 2005 at the Union City Cemetery with Rev. Harold Libert officiating. Visitation is 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. (Ind.) Friday at Fraze-Brooks Funeral Home, Union City, Ind.
