ARTHUR STAUDER, SUPERVISOR, DIES
"Supervisor Arthur T. Stauder of St. Clair Township, died suddenly of a heart attack this morning at his home, 1208 State Street Road. He was pronounced dead at 1:55 o'clock on arrival at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in the Renner ambulance.

"Mr. Stauder, 59, who operated the Stauder Truck Service, sufferd a minor heart attack Tuesday morning in the Court House at a meeting of the Board of Supervisors' court house and jail committee which he had served as chairman.

"He had been under the care of a physician for a heart condition ever since August 14, 1958, when he suffered a stroke.

"The funeral will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday from the Renner Funeral Home to St. Peter's Cathedral for a Mass at 10 o;clock. Msgr. Gregory Holtgrave, rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clocktonight. The rosary will be recited at the Funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday.

"Members of the Board of Supervisors will attend the funeral in a body, according to Chairman John Quirin. Saturday monring' regular monthy meeting scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. has been postponed until 11 a.m.

"Prior to his election as supervisor in 1957, Mr. Stauder held public office briefly as a member of the town board of auditors of St. Clair Township by appointment to vill a vacancy. He was in the hauling business for more thatn 20 years.

"The remainder of his supervisor term, expiring next April 30, will be filled by a successor to be named by the township board of appointments.

"Mr. Stauder was born here on December 29, 1900, a son of the late Julius and Mary Stauder nee Minor. He married the former Stella Zahn here June 22, 1927.

"Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Ronald Stauder, 908 Centreville Avenue; a daughter, Marilyn wife of Bernard Schmierhausen, 1205 State Street Road; two brother, Cyril Stauder, 325 North Church Stree and Joseph Stauder, Wichita, Kan.; a sister Mrs. Cordelia Juen, 507? Street, and eight gandchildren. He was precede in death by three brothers and a sister.

"Mr. Stauder was treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Peter's Cathedral and a member of the Cathedral Holy Name Society, Belleville Council 1038 Knights of Columbus, Teamsters Local No. 50, Chamber of Commerce and St.Clair County Farm Bureai."
