Wallingford – Lars Christian Thomsen, Baldwin Park, Calif., and former of Wallingford, died Friday [September 10, 1976] at the home of his daughter in Spirit Lake.
Services were held today at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with burial in East Side Cemetery, Estherville.
Born June 13, 1899, Mr. Thomsen was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Thomsen. He received his education in the Emmet County Schools and married Ellen Kinnard Nov. 25, 1926, at Wallingford. Following his first wife's death he married Helga Herem Sept. 14, 1968, in California.
Mr. Thomsen farmed in the Wallingford area until his retirement in 1953, when he moved to Wallingford. He moved to Baldwin Park, Calif., in 1969. He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helga, Baldwin Park; two son, Lawrence Thomsen, Graettinger, and Robert Thomsen, Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Ruth) Boyenga, Mason City, Mrs. Jimmy (Dorothy) Boyles, Spirit Lake, and Mrs. Jim (Nancy) Stepanovich, Glendale, Calif.; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild; three step children, Gene Herem, Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Don Lieninger, Baldwin Park, Calif., and Mrs. Joe Brush, Minneapolis; nine step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Thomsen, Graettinger, and A.P. (Dutch) Thompson, Belmond; five sisters, Mrs. Anne Jorgensen, Graettinger, Mrs. Ida Christianson, Graettinger, Mrs. Mary Christianson, Graettinger, Mrs. Toots Andresen, Graettinger, and Mrs. Mayme Stueland, Hoffman, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, one son and one sister.
