Wayne Vandeway, age 83 passed away surrounded by his family on March 21, 2011 in Yuma, Arizona.

He was born on April 3, 1927 to Otta Mae Jones and (Frank) Frances Vandeway in Pryor, Oklahoma.

He made the most of a modest education of 8 years and successfully worked as a machinist for 4 years with Beech Aircraft and 28 years with Boeing Aircraft.

Wayne lived with his family for 15 years in Arizona and was a member of the Foothills Assembly of God Church. Wayne served in the United states Army in World War II and received the World War Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal Japan.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lillie "Kittie" Louise Vandeway, of Yuma and son, Richard Vandeway of Bonney Lake, Washington; and daughter Paula Vandeway of Lacey, Washington.

Grandchildren surviving Wayne include Mathew Vandeway and Leah Vandeway, both of Bonney Lake, Washington; Sheri Washington of Lacey, Washington; Kari VanDemoere of Bonney Lake, Washington; and Kim VanDemoere of Edgewood, Washington.

Also surviving are great-grandchildren Dakota VanDemoere, and Cheyenne VanDemoere, both of Bonney Lake, Washington; Gregory Ostby of Edgewood, Washington; Carter Washington of Lacey, Washington and Lauren Washington of Lacey, Washington.

Wayne's siblings include sisters; Virginia Spaulding of Everett, Washington; Mary Jo Baker of Coco, Florida and brother, Jim Vandeway of Las Vegas, Nevada.
