Helen Reba August, 80 died March 7, 2005 in Oklahoma City. She was born December 22, 1924 in Anadarko, OK the daughter of Sears William and Nettie Jane Gibson Koch, Sr. Helen married Walter August in October of 1946. Helen graduated from Anadarko High School. She received her nursing degree from St. Anthony School of Nursing and enjoyed a 42 year career in nursing. Helen was proud of being a nurse educator and served on several boards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, parents, a brother, Sears William Koch Jr. and a sister, Irene Nelson. Survivors include a brother, Allen Koch and wife Jo Ann, Anadarko, OK; sisters, Eva McCown and husband Raymond, Oklahoma City, Verla Igo, Cement, OK; niece Pat Hess and husband Gary, Edmond, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen leaves behind her special friends, John Dexter and Dottie Overal plus a host of friends and acquaintances. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer Association or American Diabetes Association. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 10, 2005 at St. Ann's Home Chapel, 9400 St. Ann Drive. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday in the Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, OK. SMITH & KERNKE 14624 N. MAY AVE
