Lela Faye Siemion, 75, of Chesterton, IN passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Whispering Pines Health Care in Valparaiso.
Lela was born December 9, 1933 in Staunton, Virginia to the late Franklin and Olga Montgomery**. She graduated from Liberty Township High School in 1952 and went on to be a secretary for many years. She married in 1954 to Edmund Siemion. She also spent some time working in jewelry sales. She was a member of Faith Memorial Lutheran Church and enjoyed painting.
Lela is survived by two children, Jodie Hatfield of Chesterton, IN and Jeffrey Siemion of Winamac, IN; two grandchildren, Tina Hatfield of South Bend, IN and Justin Siemion of Portage, IN; great-grandchild, Logan Alexander of South Bend, IN; a sister, Jane Kibble (husband Ken) of Valparaiso; a brother, Virgil Montgomery (wife Marsha) of St. Charles, IL; and a close friend, Victoria Viou of Chesterton, IN.
A memorial service to celebrate Lela's life will be 12:30 pm Friday, January 23, 2009 at Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum at 1505 Morthland Drive in Valparaiso.
Burial of cremains will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to the family in care of Jodie Hatfield.
