A funeral will be held Wednesday, October 26 for 96-year-old Gertrude Lillian Hacker of Perryville who died October 23, 2011 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.


She was born July 6, 1915 in Brazeau, the daughter of the Phillip and Martha (Bock) Weinhold who both preceded her in death.

She married Elmer Julius Hacker on November 23, 1941. He preceded her in death on April 13th, 1987.

She is survived by two sons: Earl William (Delores) Hacker of Uniontown and Norman Paul (Cathy) Hacker, all of Perryville; a daughter: Dorothy Eileen (Dean) Berkbigler of Perryville; a sister: Irene Gerdes of Washington; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by seven brothers: Walter, Charles, William, Oscar, Adolph, Benjamin and Elmer Weinhold, and three sisters: Ada Kaufman, Esther Grebing and Hattie Blum.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid in Crosstown.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25 and 6:30-8 a.m. Wednesday, October 26 at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 96-year-old Gertrude Lillian Hacker of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 26 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown. The Rev. Roger Abernathy will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour, Zion Lutheran Church, Cemetery in Crosstown or KFUO.
