Mary Frances Potts, 80, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at her residence. Born on Feb. 8, 1930, in Becker, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Rosie Lou McClendon Funderburg. She grew up and attended schools at Quincy and Greenwood Springs. She married Curtis N. Potts on July 27, 1946. A devoted Christian, she taught Sunday school and worked in the bus ministry at First Southern Baptist Church in Joliet, Ill., for many years. Mrs. Potts was a homemaker. In 1976, she retired to Becker where she was a member of Becker Baptist Church. A wonderful mom, wife and grandmother, she enjoyed gospel music, fishing, sewing and cooking.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Wiygul Cemetery.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda F. (Larry) Gailor of Booneville and Linda M. (Daryl) Hall of Blue Mountain; son, Curtis R. (Joan Lee) Potts of Booneville; seven grandchildren, Ronald (Sabrina) Duff of Birmingham, Ala., Fredrick Duff of Tupelo, Jennifer Browning and Paul (Paula) Zyla Jr. of New Albany, Jason Zyla of Pataskala, Ohio, Randy Lee (Samantha) Potts of New Albany, and Melissa (Tony) Enright of Pataskala, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jeffrey Potts; sisters, Era Mae Tubb and Celia Faye Young; and brother, Perry Funderburg.

Pallbearers will be Fred Duff Jr., Ryan Duff, Jason Zyla, Paul Zyla, Randy Lee Potts and Zach Zyla. Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Gailor.
