Vera Johanna Roeber was born August 5, 1920 to William F. and Anna (Drewes) Dau. Born in, and life long resident of Whittemore Iowa and member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was baptized, educated, confirmed, married to Wilbur Roeber on Oct. 5 1941, and will now receive a Christian burial.

Vera was a wonderful cook and baker. A large garden provided her family of 4 children with great meals and canned goods. Flower-beds gave her home many unique bouquets. She learned to quilt and sew at an early age, many stories and laughs were shared while she quilted. Special times for her included playing cards with her grandchildren, town card clubs, also camping and fishing. She was an active member of her church, including Ladies Aide, committee work and Bible class. She and Wilbur spent many winters in Texas during their retirement. Vera became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Algona in January, 2011 She was welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Savior on July 6, 2013 at the age of 92.

Survivors include her son Kenneth and wife Barbra of Pillager, Minnesota, daughter Diane and husband Jerry Anderson of Greenville, Wisconsin, son Randy and wife Vickie of Algona and daughter-in-law, Renee Rochleau of Whittemore. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters Wilma Roeber of Garner and Luana Bernau of Preston, Minnesota. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbur in January, 1997, son William in 1982, five sisters and one brother, Edna Meyer, Ella Dau, Vic Dau, Linda Jergens, Eldora Zumach and Alice Meyer.
