Donald P. Hebgen, age 87, of Highland, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011, surrounded by his family at Bloomfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, following a brief illness. Donald was born on August 10, 1924 in Highland to Aloysius and Alice (Fillback) Hebgen. He married the former Theresa Mangardi on June 25, 1947. Donald was a Highland area carpenter for over 50 years. He was a member of Ss. Anthony & Philip Parish, the Highland Legion and V.F.W. and served for many years on the Highland Fire Department and the Highland Village Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Theresa on December 20, 2006; an infant sister; his twin brother, Ronald and an infant great granddaughter.

Donald is survived by two sons, Donald "Butch" (Sandy) Hebgen of Madison and Bruce (Ginny) Hebgen of Highland; a daughter, Mary (Ron) Nechvatal of Montfort; seven grandchildren; John (Lisa) Hebgen; Kurt (Joanna) Hebgen; Christine (Scott) Matthews; Matthew Nechvatal; Angela (Pat) Heim; Tim (Susan) Hebgen and David Hebgen; 10 great grandchildren, Owen, Meagan, Ryan, Ellen and Marcus Hebgen, Rhiannon and Alese Heim and Tyler, Abby, and Logan Matthews; a brother, Dick (Mary) Hebgen of Highland; a sister-in-law, Mary J. Hebgen of Highland as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland with Fr. Kenneth J. Frisch officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Friday after 10:00 A.M.
