FERDINAND AND MARY MAGDALENE (KLUG) ASBRA FAMILY
Ferdinand was born in Prussia on February 20, 1855. His wife, Mary Magdalene (Klug), was born in 1859 in Dubuque County, Iowa. They were the parents of 11 children. They were Rose (Mrs. Gus Buschelman), Millie (Mrs. Jack Jones), Lucy (Mrs. George Scholl), Leona (Lonnie) (Mrs. Mark Loftus), Steve (Mary Bergman), John (Clara Wiechelman), Otto (Theresa Buschelman), Joe (Amanda Bergman), Bruno (Peggy Francisca). Two children died at a very early age.
They lived north and east of St. James on what was then called the Rattle Snake Ranch. Later they moved to Wynot.
In March, 1906, Ferdinand Asbra donated a side altar for the SS. Philip and James Church and Stations of the Cross.
Ferdinand died on April 6, 1933 at Wynot. Mary Magdalene died in 1934.
