The funeral of Mrs. Emma Celeste Joerger, wife of Edward C. Joerger, was held at St. Joseph's Catholic church Tuesday morning and burial was in Lakeside cemetery. Mrs. Joerger died at her home, 60S South Third street, Sunday morning of pneumonia.
She was born in Samanauk, Ill., Feb. 17, 1862, a daughter of Edward and Theresa Ortmann Gehrig. Her marriage to Edward C. Joerger took place in Pekin, Jan. 30, 1882. She had resided in Pekin for 66 years, was a member of St. Joseph's church and of the Altar society. She is survived by her husband, one son, Rudolph E. Joerger; a daughter, Mrs. Iran Quevy; two brothers, Charles F. Gehrig of Pekin and Edward Gehrig of Chicago, and six grandchildren.
