She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and later joined the United Methodist church at Tecumseh. She received her education at Grove school in Nemaha County.
After her marriage to Cecil Stanley they established their home in Tecumseh. Mrs. Stanley lived the rest of her life in Tecumseh. Cecil W. Stanley passed away on April 28, 1964.
Clara was employed a few years at C. A. Swansons. She was a member of the Women's Society at the Methodist church and greatly enjoyed the hours she spent quilting with the ladies at the church.
She was the last of a family of nine children and the youngest. Two sisters, Mrs. Martha Schneider and Mrs. Bertha Mueller, her six brothers, George, Julius, Paul, Otto, Louis and Herman and her parents, preceded her in death.
