Albert W. "Sonny" Kirchner, 54, of Patterson, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at his home. He was born Feb. 3, 1949, in White Hall, the son of Albert R. and Helen M. Day Kirchner. He married Karen S. Terpening in 1970 in White Hall. Mr. Kirchner was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, where he received five bronze stars, the Purple Heart and the National Defense Service Medal. He had worked as a lineman for Illinois Rural Electric Co. in Winchester for 32 years. He was a member of the Jacksonville Sportsmans Club, Wolf Run Bow Hunters and Hillview Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Karen; a daughter, Tammy (husband, Brett) Berry of Roodhouse; a son, Chad (wife, Cindy) Kirchner of Roodhouse; a grandson; parents, Albert and Helen Kirchner of White, Hall; two brothers, Rick Kirchner of Indiana and Rodney Kirchner of White Hall; three sisters, Norma Maberry of Springfield, Donna Carl of White Hall and Blanche Price of Carrollton. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall. Burial: Pine Tree Cemetery near Patterson.
