Reverend Floyd C. Blankenship passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Community Hospital East. He was born in Lafayette, TN on April 9, 1929.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Latris Graves. In the 1950's Floyd and brother Dennis started a bluegrass Band, "The Blankenship Brothers". They also had their own Record Label - "Skyline". In 1959 their song "Mary" was in the top 10 nationally.

In 1967 Floyd accepted the Jesus Christ as his Savior. Floyd was founder and pastor of the True Word Baptist Church for the past 40 years where he was also the founder of the Kings Servant Quartet.

He worked at Stokley Van Camp for 38 years retiring in 1989. He has two sons, Rick (Monta) Blankenship, Charlotte, NC, and Roger (Diana) Blankenship, Danville, IN, four grandchildren, Amanda Hancock, Greenfield, IN, Marcina Vankirk, Fountaintown, IN, Tyler & Zachary Blankenship, Danville, IN, five great grandchildren, 1 surviving brother Earl Blankenship, Morgantown, IN, three surviving sisters, Betty Hanner, Scottsville, KY, Sarah Fox, NY, and Brenda Shumway, VA
