Elsie S. Lilienthal, 80, of Durant, died Wednesday, September 17, 1986, at the Wilton Nursing Home in Wilton.

Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, and 9:00 a.m., to service time, Saturday, at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Durant, in her memory.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Elsie Sophia Thede was born December 7, 1905, in Benton County, the daughter of William and Amanda (Hamann) Thede. She received her education in the Benton County schools. She later moved with her family to Cedar County. She married Albert Henry Lilienthal on February 16, 1927, in Davenport. Together they farmed in Cedar County, until they retired to Durant. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Durant and the Daughters of the Nile in Davenport.

Surviving are her husband, Albert; and one sister, Florence Banks of Mesa, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Thede.
