Frank Wittrock

Funeral rites will be at 9 am Monday at St. Augustine's Church in Halbur for Frank Wittrock, 61, who died at his home one mile south of Halbur at 10:30 am Friday. He succumbed to a four-week illness.

The Rev. H.B. Kramer will offer requiem mass. Burial will be in St. Augustine's cemetery.

Rosary recitation will be at 8 pm Saturday and Sunday at the Olerich-Twit Funeral Home, where the body is resting until the time of the final services.

Mr. Wittrock, son of the late Claus and Mary Wittrock, was born Jan. 11, 1893, on a farm one and one-half miles south of Halbur. He attended school at Halbur.

He was married to Rose Drees Nov. 25, 1919, at Holy Angels Church, Roselle, by Rev. Fr. Gehling.

Mr. and Mrs. Wittrock have lived on their farm south of Halbur since their marriage. Nov. 25, 1954, marked the 35th anniversary of their residence.

Mr. Wittrock is survived by his wife; eight children, Mrs. Wilbur (Lucina) Truhe, Ames; Fred Wittrock, Hamlin; Mrs. Clarence (Virgene) Reineke, Carroll; Mrs. Leo (Verna) Mayer, Dedham; Robert, Halbur; Harold, Arcadia; Mrs. Andrew (Elvera) Daniel, Roselle; and Roman, Halbur, and 14 grandchildren.

He also leaves five brothers, William, Joe, John, George and August Wittrock, and four sisters, Mrs. Ted (Annie) Eischeid, Mrs. Kate Janning, Mrs. Joe (Frances) Bluml and Mrs. Henry (Tina) Potthoff.

A son, Raymond, died at the age of two weeks. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Charles, and two sisters, Mary and Mrs. Henry Langel.

Mr. Wittrock was a member of St. Augustine's Church and the Holy Name Society of the parish.

He was a veteran of World War I.
