Miss Anna Leonard rites will be held tomorrow
Private funeral services for Miss Anna Elizabeth Leonard, of 1054 James St., widely known for her participation in civic and philanthropic affairs, will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the home.
The Rev. William H. Smith of the First Reformed Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The daughter of the late George B. and Elizabeth Dimock Leonard of Syracuse, Miss Leonard was graduated in 1900 from the College of Fine Arts, Syracuse University, where she majored in painting.
She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and of the Syracuse Alumni Assn.
A member of the First Reformed Church, Miss Leonard was a member-at-large of the National Missionary Board of the church for many years. She was a retired member of the Syracuse Home Assn.
Active in the establishment of non-demoninational local missions, she contributed funds for the building of a school in India in memory of her mother, and donated funds toward the building of a hospital there in memory of her father.
A brother, G. Alexander Leonard, died Aug. 9. Surviving are a sister, Miss Margaret Dewitt Leonard of Syracuse and a brother, Thomas D. Leonard of New York City.
