Pierre Weekly Free Press, Pierre, Hughes, SD, 22 Apr 1915, page 5:
"Mrs. Peter Hartman of St. Lawrence, who received serious injuries in a runaway at that place the first of the week and was brought to St. Mary's hospital for treatment, died this afternoon after terrible suffering. One foot which was seriously injured in the accident was amputated at the ankle, and this with internal injuries caused death to relieve her of her terrible suffering. The remains, accompanied by relatives, will be taken to St. Lawrence tomorrow."
