Lyle was born on March 15, 1929 in Sheboygan, the son of Gustav and Lena (Waring) Bubb. He attended Grant Elementary School and graduated from Central High School in 1947. Lyle joined the US Navy Submarine Service and served aboard the USS Catfish and USS Archerfish as an Electrician's Mate between 1950 and 1954 when he was honorably discharged.
On August 28, 1954 he married Doris Mae Mueller at St. Peter Claver Church in Sheboygan. Lyle worked at as an electrician at Ace Electric for many years and then later as head of maintenance at RCS in Sheboygan. He loved to sing and play the guitar and he sang tenor for the Tunehawkers, a popular local barbershop quartet. A member of AA for more than 30 years, he was instrumental in leading meetings and advising other members. He enjoyed puzzles, word searches, classic movies and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Doris; one daughter, Patricia Jansky (Leroy) of Chippewa Falls; three sons, David (Susan) of Manitowoc, Steven (Barbara) and Jeffrey (Genie), both of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren, Jonathan (Erin) and Joel (April) Jansky, Jennifer (Mark) Swartz, Jeremiah Bubb, Brandon and Andrew Bubb, and Austin and Patrick Turbyfill. He is also survived by two sisters, Gwendolyn (Benjamin) Engelhardt and Shirley Markham, both of Sheboygan; three brothers, Lynn (Marilyn) Bubb of Walnut Creek, CA, Mylon (Josephine) Bubb of Sheboygan, and Elwyn (Johnnie) Bubb of Shoshone, ID. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Caryl McDermott, Adlyn Scribner, Gladys Kasabuske, Delfya Gensch and his brothers, Floyd and Elery Bubb.
