Anthony J. "Tony" Kleen, 72, of Pocahontas died Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 1973 at Pocahontas Community Hospital where he had been admitted Tuesday afternoon. He had been in failing health for approximately seven years. Casketbearers were Jerome Kleen, Francis Kopriva, Dennis Holst, John Holst, Daniel Kleen and Douglas Kleen. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Pocahontas. Anthony John Kleen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kleen, was born near Pomeroy on April 25, 1899. The family moved to near Havelock when he was a boy, then moved to a farm west of Pocahontas. He was educated in Havelock and Pocahontas. He was married to M. McCormick of Pocahontas in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Feb. 1, 1921. they engaged in farming west of Pocahontas and continued to live on the farm after retirement. Survivors include the widow, Margaret; two daughters, Miss Vivienne Kleen of Los Angeles, Calif and Mrs. Tom (Arlyne) Holst of Pocahontas; two sons, Dennis Kleen and Duane Kleen, both of Pocahontas; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a brother Joseph P. Kleen of Gilmore City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Genevieve) Kopriva.
