DYERSVILLE, Iowa -- Ruth D. Kramer, 86, of Dyersville, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at home after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Noah Diehm officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m. and the Dyersville Fire Department will gather at 6 p.m.
Ruth was born on Jan. 1, 1925, daughter of John and Johanna (Lueck) Eilers. She received her education from the Xavier Schools and graduated from Xavier High School in 1943. She continued on with her education and graduated from Dubuque Cosmetology College in 1946. Ruth was a licensed cosmetologist.
She married Walter "Bing" Kramer at St. Francis Xavier Church on April 28, 1953; he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2000.
Ruth was a homemaker and her family was most important to her. She enjoyed family vacations, reading, taking pictures and taking short car rides. She lived her entire life in Dyersville.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Surviving are her two sons, Gary and Alan (Susan Konzen), both of Dyersville; a sister, Eunice Hauber, of Dyersville; a brother-in-law, Vince McLees, of Cascade; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ray and Eugene (LouMay) Eilers; three sisters, Jeanette (Eugene) Tauke, Helen (Harold) Laures and Edith McLees; and a brother-in-law, Bernard Hauber.
