A Free Will Baptist pastor, evangelist and denominational leader. He was converted to Christ at age 15 and ordained to the ministry at age 18. He graduated from Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville Tennessee in 1946 and also Trinity College. He pastored churches in Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina. He was General Director of the National Home Mission Board of Free Will Baptists from 1956 until 1973. During his tenure the department planted churches in 33 states and he opened the work in Canada, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and extended the work in several states of Mexico. He was founder and editor of Mission Grams, the Director Of Evangelism, founder of the Church Loan Fund Program and the Director Of The Chaplain's Ministry. He preached in all 50 states and also Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Germany, Israel and Egypt. His ministry took him to every continent except Australia. He was an honorary life member of the Gideons, a past Lieutenant Governor Kiwanis International, an organization that he had served in for 50 years. He was a member of the Who's Who in Tennessee.
