Billy Dean Morris, Sr. of Levelland, Texas passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 01, 2011. He was 76 years, 4 months and 15 days old.
Son of the late William Leon and Emma Beatrice Finney Morris, Billy was born July 16, 1935 in Portland, Arkansas. He moved from Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Borger, Texas in 1954 where he met his future wife, Alberta Lee Rorabaugh. They were married in Stinnett, Texas on July 5, 1955.
Billy went to work in the oilfield in Borger, Texas in 1956. Billy and his family also lived in Perryton, and Odessa, Texas before moving to Levelland, Texas in 1967.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Erie Mae Atkins, Louise Harrell and Mary Cogbill, two brothers; Joe Morris and George Morris and one step-great-grandson, Jeremiah Claggett.
Morris is survived by his wife, Alberta, of the home, two sisters; Elsie Land of Montrose, Arkansas and Inez Hamby of Monroe, Louisiana, three brothers; James Morris, Leon Morris and his wife, Dianne, C.W. Morris and his wife, Rin, all of Pine Bluff Arkansas. Four sons: Billy, Jr. and Susan Morris, Bobby, Sr. and Melody Morris, Benny and Sherrie Morris all of Levelland, Texas and Bradley Morris of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Ten grandchildren: Bobby, Jr and Melanie Morris, Sarah Morris and Bethany Morris all of Levelland, Texas, Billy, III "Trey" and Kristen Morris of Yorktown, Virginia, Emily Morris of Maumelle, Arkansas, Audra and Tanner Osborn of Whitharral, Texas, Bradley Morris, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia, Melissa and Lee Ford of Sherrill Arkansas, Eric and Valerie Morris of Stuttgart, Arkansas, two step-granddaughters; Patricia Sanders of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Stephanie Claggett of Hot Springs,Arkansas. Eight great-grandchildren: Bobby III "Bo" Morris, Britt Morris, Bryan Morris, Jonathan Osborn, Abigail Osborn, Jackson Osborn, Hannah Ford and Cheyenne Ford. Six step-great-grandchildren: Toni Mosley, Tyler Mosley, Taylor Mosley, Jeffrey Claggett, Justin Claggett and Jules Claggett. Two sisters-in-law: Joyce and Hayse Reneau of Greenville, Texas and Betty Montgomery of Laguna Park, Texas and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 5, 2011 under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas with Johnny Fietz officiating. Burial followed at Whitharral Cemetery in Whitharral, Texas.
