Elaine M. Meredith (91) Worley, ID died at Coeur d' Alene Homes in Coeur d' Alene on July 14, 2011. Elaine was born on 12/18/1919 at Plummer, ID to Conrad Toetley and Hermine Zehm Toetly. Elaine grew up and went to school in Plummer. She married Edward O. Meredith on 7/31/1937 in Worley. They made their home on the Idaho-Washington line near Meredith Road. Elaine worked at the pea warehouse in Moscow, drove a school bus for Worley School District for 23 years. Later on she kept books for their family owned business, Meredith's Repair, in Worley until 1998 when her health forced her to retire. The family moved to Renton, WA. In 1941 where her husband welded on the Liberty ships during the war. They moved back to Plummer in 1945 for a short time and then on to Worley in May 1946. She maintained their home until shortly before her death. She loved to visit family and friends, loved to read and had a beautiful flower garden. Elaine had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by a brother, Lawrence Toetly, of Plummer, ID., one son, Glen (Eunice) Meredith, and a daughter, Charlene (Bill) Waddell, both of Worley, one son-in-law, Mickey Vens, of Spokane Valley, 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward O. Meredith, two daughters, Janet Miller and Patricia Vens, and on grandson, Glen "Pud" Gilbert. At her request there will not be a service. The remains will be at the Worley Cemetary.
