[Navy Cross Citation
The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Ensign Henry R. Benjamin, United States Navy (Reserve Force), for distinguished and heroic service as an aviator in an aeroplane attached to the Northern Bombing Group, engaged in active operations cooperating with the Allied Armies on the Belgian Front during September, October, and November 1918, bombing enemy bases, aerodromes, submarine bases, ammunition dumps, railroad junctions.

[Obituary:
1966/67 Henry Rogers Benjamin 76 of Southampton and Manhattan a philanthropist and financier died Wednesday in NY Hospital in Manhattan. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. in St Thomas Episcopal Church, the Rev Frederick M MOrris will officiate. He will be buried Monday morning at 11 a.m. at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, NY under the direction of Frank E Campbell Funeral Chappel, Madison Ave at 81 St , Manhattan. Mr Benjamin who maintained a home on Gin Lane Southampton participated in many community and societal activities on Long Island. He had lived in Southampton LI for 40 years. He was a member of the Bathing Corp of Southampton, the Southampton Colonial Association, The Parrish Art Museum of Southampton, and the Long Island Early Fliers Club. He also belonged to the Southampton Yacht Club, the Southampton Club and the Meadow Club. A native of Manhattan, Mr Benjamin also maintained a residence at 4 E 65th St, Manhattan. Mr Benjamin had many varied business interests, including oil, railroading, real estate and book publishing. For the past ten years he was the director of the Westgates petroleum Co in Las Angeles, CA..
