William Hochstatter
MENDOTA--William L. Hochstatter, 58, 1102 Park Ave., was pronounced dead on arrival at Mendota Community Hospital on Tuesday, March 7.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Church with the Rev. Richard Fitzsimmons and the Rev. Paul Hettinger officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Schwarz Funeral Home with an Elks ritual at 7 p.m. and the rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Elks Crippled Children Fund or Holy Cross School.

Hochstatter was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Mendota to Leo and Gertrude (Brommenschnekle) Hochstatter. He married the former Mary Helen (Willie) Williamson on May 5, 1956, in Colfax.

Hochstatter was a staff sargeant in the Air Force during the Korean War, a life-long member of Holy Cross Church, past exhaulted ruler B.P.O.E. Mendota Lodge 1212, past president of Mendota Lions Club, past president Mendota Chamber of Commerce, member of VFW, district Elk's Hoopshoot committee chairman, Area No. 2 lapsation chairman. He was the former owner/operator of Central oil Co. in Mendota.

He is survived by his wife, three sons; Jeff, Leo and Dan, all of Mendota; two brothers, Herb Turk of Mendota and Jerry Hochstatter of Amboy, one sister, Dolores Bieschke of Compton, eight grandchildren.
