Agnes was born April 13, 1928 near Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Ruhkamp) Sandmann.
On August 10, 1949 she married Paul Nietfeld.
Agnes helped with the farm, housework and the chicken hatchery. She also volunteered as an attendant during school lunch at St. Gregory's Catholic School and was a longtime volunteer on the Marshall County Election Board.
She was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Pal's and Pleasures Club and St. Gregory's quilting group.
She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening and her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul, on December 25, 1999; and daughter, Lucille Jenkins, on December 9, 2000.
Survivors include five sons, Jerome (Ingrid) Nietfeld, Manhattan, KS, Arthur (Margaret) Nietfeld, Wymore, NE, Joe (Lori) Nietfeld, Home, KS, Karl (Joyce) Nietfeld, St. George, KS, and Edward Nietfeld, Marysville, KS; three daughters, Jane (Joe) Pientka, Emporia, KS, Anna (Wayne) Symmonds, Admire, KS, and Theresa (Warren) Knabe, Wymore, NE; son-in-law, Bill (Deneise) Jenkins, Marysville, KS; sister, Julia Ann Wollenberg, Hanover, KS; twenty-four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 16 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery.
