2 Feb. 2000 Melvin L. Mervine, 92, of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg. He was
born 6 July 1907 son of Harry & Clara (Wolfgang) Mervine. He retired as a
mechanic at Ruppert's Chevrolet & Oldsmobile in Tremont. He was a member of
St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont & Swatara Lodge 267, F&AM. He was
preceded in death by his wife, the former Carrie A. Shadle in 1995, a son
Donald E, and sisters, Gladys Moyer & Rena Kissinger. Surviving are a
daughter, Marjorie Vix of Avon IN, sisters Grace Wiest & Leona Schwinehart,
both of Ashland, 7 grandchildren, & 9 great grandchildren. Burial will be in
Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Minnig-Berger Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
