Gloria was born September 18, 1920 in Hastings to Edward and Antoinette (Otte) King. She was a 1937 graduate of Hastings High School. Gloria owned and operated Kranz Insurance Company in Hastings. She also worked at various other agencies prior to her retirement. Gloria was an excellent seamstress, loved knitting, crafts, playing cards, baking, and cooking. She was especially close to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1954; son Nick; sister Catherine. Gloria is survived by her children Judy (Cy) Durand of Long Prairie, Paul (Tere) Kranz of Hastings, Ed (Shelly) Kranz of Hastings, Peter (Liz) Kranz of Long Meadow, Mass., and Marci Kranz of Hastings; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Virginia Andersen of North Carolina, Marge King of Pennsylvania, and Edna (Joe) Kimmes of Plymouth.
The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. James Perkl will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, December 16, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings with visitation from 9AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers are Edward Kranz, Mitch Kranz, Patrick Kranz, Matthew Kranz, Carl Dabruzzi, and Nicole Kranz.
