Diamond Lee Lucente, age 69, a 10-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Ft. Washington, MD for 45 years, died at her residence on Tuesday, October 25 after a 3-year battle with cancer. Born on December 26, 1941 in Washington, DC, Lee was a homemaker who enjoyed decorating. She was a member of the Sons of Italy, the Oxon Hill Manor OSIA and the Homemakers Club. In her spare time, Lee liked shopping, cooking, baking, reading, praying and crafts of all kinds, especially quilting. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Frank A. Lucente; two sons, Anthony R. Vernon of Coral Springs, FL and Shawn Vernon of Deerfield Beach, FL; three daughters, Anna Lucente-Hoffmann, Gina and Carla Lucente all of Edgewater, MD; a brother, Edward Boccabello of St. Petersburg, FL; a sister, Philamena Gonzalez of Dagsboro, DE; six grandchildren, Ross Vernon, Frank and Brooke Lucente-Watson, Ford and Summer Hoffmann, Erica Lucente-Fierstein, and Madison Lucente-Newman and one great-granddaughter, Jaslene Vernon. Friends are invited to Lee's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 28 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. An online guestbook is available for your convenience at:
